Writing

Over the last several years as a Researcher at AmericaSpeaks I’ve been able to write a bit about public participation. Since setting out on my own to grow the Global Peace Tiles Project and other activities, I’ve written a bit about the arts and technology in public engagement as well. Here’s an abbreviated listing of authored and co-authored works:

2008

  • “Engagement at the Edges: An Introduction to Online Public Participation” (Unpublished, Murdoch University)
  • “Institutionalizing Large-Scale Citizen Engagement in Governance: A Link Between Theory and Practice” in Beyond e-Government and e-Democracy: A Global Perspective (Washington, DC: Public Technology Institute & ITEMS International)
  • “Citizensourcing: Citizen Participation In A Networked Nation” in Civic Engagement in a Network Society (Charlotte, NC: Information Age Publishing)

2007

  • “Citizensourcing in the Public Interest” in Knowledge Management for Development Journal, Vol 3, No 1 (2007)

2006

  • Public Deliberation: A Managers Guide to Citizen Engagement (Washington, DC: IBM Center for the Business of Government)
